All weapons use the dagger or knife skill depending on which class they fall into. Class A "daggers" use the dagger skill and class B "daggers" use the knife skill. Parrying Dagger uses the main-gauche skill. The following weapons require the sub-skill dual class to use both classes of the weapon: Katar, Cinqueda and Dirk.

Dual Class Weapons: Characters must be trained in the use of dual class weapons in order to use both of their classes to qualify for grievous, otherwise they use the Class that is listed first on the weapons chart. Folding Dagger: Folding Daggers may be concealed on a person and are not detected when a person is searched unless the person checking rolls under MD. Fold dagger may be unfolded and used in the same pulse if the person wielding it rolls under 4 X MD. Katar: The damage of the katar varies depending upon the PS of the person using it. At PS 8 it does D damage and for every 3 PS its damage goes up by one. This does not increase the base chance of a katar breaking if used by a very strong person. Katars also require that a person be trained in dual class weapons if they want to use it for both Class A & B. Otherwise it is just class A. Scissor katars only require normal training and not dual class mastery. Dagger: When attacking a foe in close combat whose modified agility is between 12 & 9 the dagger may be used to attack twice in a pulse, the modified agility is 8 or under the dagger may attack 3 times in a given pulse. Multiple strikes provide additional opportunities to hit than the character already possesses using these modifiers. Throwing Dagger: The throwing dagger may only be thrown; it may not be used in melee or close combat. Stiletto: The stiletto may be used in melee or close combat but may not be thrown. Main-gauche, Parrying Dagger & Sai: These weapons function as both a shield (+2% per rank) and weapon, but as a shield they may not block ranged attacks nor may it be used to make a shield rush. Sai: The sai adds +15% on to attempts to disarm opponents as well as being able to parry anyone who misses the opponent by only 20% instead of the normal 30%.
