Both of these skills are forms of ancient hand to hand combat. Each has distinctive advantages. Characters proficient in boxing & wrestling add 3% per rank to their attacks with hands and +1 to damage at ranks 1, 4, 7 & 10. Characters must have rank equal to or greater in hands before advancing higher in boxing or wrestling. Boxers add 5% to defense per rank from attacks in melee, but not ranged or close combat. Wrestlers add 3% to defense in melee & close combat and 1 to Natural armor every other rank starting at rank 3.
Rank 1: +1 IV with hands
Rank 2: Boxers subtract 1 from their die roll to repulse something from getting into close combat. Opponents of wrestlers must add 1 to rolls attempting to keep him or her out of combat.
Rank 4: Extra attack with hands. Boxers may perform a knock-out punch by using two attacks with hands. If the boxer damages opponent for more than 1/3 of its FT the opponent is knocked-out instead of stunned. Opponent may roll under 2 X WP to resist being knocked out. EN hits automatically KO. Wrestlers may perform a choke hold in close combat by using two attacks. If successful the wrestler may keep the hold until broken by the opponent. The hit is automatic the following pulse but must still rolls for damage to see if it goes through armor. The opponent suffers -10% to attacks for each pulse that it takes damage to FT or EN. The modifier goes away in 10% increments for each hold the pulse is broken. The hold may be broken if the victim rolls under 3 X PS - PS of wrestler. This is the only action an opponent may do if they attempt to break free.
Rank 5: Boxers subtract 1 from their die roll to repulse something from getting into close combat. Opponents of wrestlers must add 1 to rolls attempting to keep him or her out of combat. +2 IV with hands.
Rank 6: 4 X WP to resist being stunned. Extra attack with hands.
Rank 7: Boxers may execute a speed attack with hands at - 15% to strike chance and -3 from damage may punch opponent twice as many times with hands. Wrestlers may power slam their opponents by making a PS as determined by the GM. This is the only attack the wrestler makes and the damage is tripled. Wrestler must enter close combat and hit with two attacks. Attempt to repulse this attack must add +1 to die roll. Opponent will automatically drop anything held in hands.
Rank 8: Boxers subtract 1 from their die roll to repulse something from getting into close combat. Opponents of wrestlers must add 1 to rolls attempting to keep him or her out of combat. +1 IV with hands.
Rank 9: +1 damage with hands.
Rank 10: Boxers subtract 1 from their die roll to repulse something from getting into close combat. Opponents of wrestlers must add 1 to rolls attempting to keep him or her out of combat. +1 IV with hands. If an opponent misses a boxer in melee by more than 30% the boxer may attempt a knock-out punch at -20% +3 damage. This is a free attack that the boxer may make during the opponent’s attack. The boxer may not choose to parry if he chooses to use this attack. Wrestlers may rally their attack by rolling under 4 X WP. Their FT is increases by 50% of their current EN and their attacks go up by 10% to strike and +3 damage for the next 3 pulses. This may be done once per combat.
