Sendashi are a desert dwelling race that looks somewhat similar to human
beings. Sendashi are desert nomads and have no allegiance to a large
unit other than the family. They travel in small groups and tend to avoid
contact with other races. As a whole the entire race is magical and all of
them practice various forms of magic in one college or another. Desert
dwellers who know of the Sendashi refer to them as the sandmen. They
have a knack FOR suddenly appearing and disappearing in the desert.
Sendashi do not waste anything, they are rugged survivalist and take little
for granted. They tend not to favor lavish clothing or equipment, but prefer
things that are simple and functional.
They see humans as good trading partners; seem to enjoy the company of
elves (though it is hard to tell since they show few facial reactions), like
dwarves except when the act in a greedy fashion, and seem content to
listen to halflings for hours on end. For the most part they avoid conflicts
with Orcs, Quissians and Fire Giants if they can help it, but fight fiercely to
defend family and friends from attack. Sendashi have some unique abilities
that make them much sought after traveling companions. For some
unknown reason Sendashi radiate a field of magical disturbance around
them that makes mind reading and scrying near impossible. Those within a
particular radius of the Sendashi seem to benefit from this disturbance as
well. Sendashi also have superb hearing and exception night vision. Their
one drawback is a very limited day vision.
1. Sendashi may take one of the following weapons at ½ the required experience: Scimitar, Sabre, Flail,
Quarterstaff, Tonfa, Nunchuka, Kusarigama, or Arit.
2. Sendashi receive Thief at ½ the required exp.
3. Sendashi receive Ranger at ½ the required exp when they specialize in desert.
4. Sendashi receive +10% to the base chance of spells if they specialize in one of the following colleges:
Arcane-Illusions-Nomad-Metabolic-Fire-Earth.
5. Survival in the desert has allowed Sendashi to push their bodies far beyond normal limitations. Sendashi can go
up to ½ of their EN in days without food, water or sleep. After this period of exceptional strain they must sleep 8
hours and have a full meal. They must wait an equal number of days before they can push their bodies to such
extremes again.
6. Direct sunlight limits their sensitive eyes to a range of 50ft. Beyond that targets are blurred up to 300ft away and
past that they are not seen by the Sendashi. Sendashi possess Truesight which gives them perfect night vision as
well as the ability to see invisible objects. Perfect night vision works automatically, but to activate Truesight they
must roll under PC +4% per rank with this talent. EXP: 300, may go up to rank 20 like a spell. They can also see in
environments that are limiting to others. Sendashi can see up to 500ft in smoke, fog or sandstorms. (Note that this
ability only functions in the dark. The use of torches or artificial light makes it too difficult to perceive invisible
objects, although they can still see in obscure environments.)
7. Sendashi may walk across sand without any reductions in TMR. They may also roll to pass without a trace in any
environment if they roll under 3 X AG
8. Aura of Obscurity: Sendashi radiate an aura around themselves and those within 25 feet of them that make mind
reading impossible as well and making them impossible to detect by means of a magic ball or some other scrying
device.
9. Sendashi make one roll on the bogie table
