Hobbits are about three feet in height and live in small communities of huts or burrows. Hobbits tend to like the easy
life and arrange to have plenty of rest and relaxation. They rarely leave their communities, and those that do usually
come to be viewed as outcast by the rest of their kind. Because of their small stature they tend to avoid fights with
most creatures. Adventuring hobbits have been known to provoke fights and tend to be surprisingly good fighters.
They like most of the races except for orcs and their kindred who tend to bully them, and they hate drow and duergar.
Hobbits tend to live about 150 years.
1. Hobbits see in the dark with infra-vision at a range of 100 feet. This vision allows them to see heat signatures of
living beings and geo-thermal signatures from other heat sources. They cannot read or see fine details with this
sight, but it allows +15% to tracking any being with a heat signature.
2. Hobbits receive Thief at ½ the required exp. cost.
3. Hobbits may use one weapon at ½ the required exp. cost.
4. Hobbits are capable of hiding themselves when there is adequate cover so as to be nearly undetectable. They are
as difficult to detect as a rank 6 thief, and as difficult to detect as a rank 8 thief if traveling alone.
5. Hobbits are highly resistant to natural poisons (4 X EN), and may roll under 2 X EN to resist artificial poisons.
6. Hobbits are prohibited from using any sword that is longer than their own height as well as any pole weapon that is
greater than five feet in length. They may use short bows or crossbows, but none of the other bows.
7. Hobbits receive three rolls on the bogey table.
