DARVOTH
Darvoths are a race of small dog faced humanoids.  Darvoths are about the
same height and build as gnomes and halflings, but possess much greater
strength and endurance.  Their small size is deceiving and many a raiding tribe
of gnolls or beastmen have been soundly defeated by the resistance offer by
Darvoths.   Darvoths have heads that looks somewhat like a bull dog or other
pug faced dog that humans typically breed.   They are a gruff race that rarely
minces their words and they are not one to be delicate about saying things.
Darvoths words are often cutting and blunt, but they just see it as being
honest.   If a Darvoths wants to hurt you it won’t be with words but with
weapons.  Darvoths dwell apart from most races in isolated mountain
communities and do not welcome many visitors.   They prefer to be left alone
and generally let visitors know that.   They will trade with dwarves and gnomes,
but find most other races of little interest.  They think that humans and
Halflings are soft and weak.  They find elves irritating and too proper. They
have little dealings with orcs and their kin, but the gruff nature of their
comments tend to cause frequent battles and fights.  Giants tend to leave
Darvoths alone since having a tribe of little berserker fanatics is easier to
avoid than kill. In their favor, Darvoths are fearless fighters and will go to great
risks to defend their family, tribe and friends. They have a strong sense of
loyalty.  If an outsider manages to befriend a Darvoths they will have a friend
for life unless they betray the Darvoths.   They have a crude sense of humor
and very unrefined personal habits.   Most would rather not keep their
company; dwarves seem to be the least bothered by the common odors and
appearance of Darvoths.
As far as Sages can determine Darvoths have unusual strength because of
the density of their muscles.   The average Darvoths is no larger than gnome,
but weigh as much as a human.  They never appear fat or out of shape.
Darvoths fly into a berserk rage whenever they become wounded in combat.
This rage gives them unbelievable strength and makes them very dangerous
opponents.   They do risk becoming more reckless in their rage and sustaining
even greater damage to themselves.
1. Darvoths may take one hafted weapon at ½ the required exp.
2. Darvoths have the same night vision as Wolfen.
3. Darvoths receive Beastmaster at ½ the required exp and only require ½ the time to train.
4. Darvoths are immune to the fright table but not the spell of fear.
5.  Bite:  60% +1 in close combat only.   If they score an EN hit or Grievous Darvoths lock their jaws on an opponent
and will do automatic EN the following pulse and until they release their bite.  Roll D10 to determine area that
Darvoths is mauling.  1: Neck 2-3: Right Arm 4-5: Left Arm 6-7: Right Leg 8-9: Left Leg 10: Crotch.   Opponents bit on
the neck or crotch make one less attack because of the pain they experience.
6. Rage:   Darvoths fly into a blood rage similar to a berserk whenever they loose more than ½ their FT.   Their PS is
doubled and they gain an additional attack. The damage of their bite increases to +4.   This rage will last until the
battle is over or the Darvoth is dead.
7. Night Vision similar to a Wolfen.
8. -20% to Stealth.   Darvoths are not quite and their pug noses cause them to have breathing problems when they
get excited or anxious.
9. Darvoths make one roll on the bogie table.
