General Knowledge Spell
1. Burst of Speed (G-1) RANGE: 20 feet + 5 additional/Rank DURATION: 5 seconds + 5 seconds every 3 ranks EXPERIENCE MULTIPLE: 100 BASE CHANCE: 50%. EFFECTS: The nomad can increase the base speed of the target by +2 TMR for the duration of the spell.
2. Spell of Flotation (G-2) RANGE: 25 feet + 5 per rank DURATION: 10 minutes + 10 additional/Rank EXPERIENCE MULTIPLE: 100 BASE CHANCE: 45% RESIST: May not be resisted. EFFECTS: The target is incapable of being submerged unless it weighs over 300 lbs +25lbs per rank.
3. Spell of Feather Falling (G-3) RANGE: 20 feet + 5 every two ranks DURATION: 1 pulse per rank EXPERIENCE MULTIPLE: 200 BASE CHANCE: 40%. EFFECTS: The nomad can slow the speed of fall to such a degree that one is able to land upon their feet. By paying 4 FT to use this spell it may be used if the fall catches the nomad or another by surprise and may be cast without a pulse of preparation. Obviously this no longer applies if the nomad possess quick casting or is rank 20.
4. Spell of Skating (G-4) RANGE: 25 feet + 5 per rank DURATION: 1 minutes + 1 additional/Rank EXPERIENCE MULTIPLE: 300 BASE CHANCE: 45% RESIST: May not be resisted. EFFECTS: The nomad or object upon which this spell is cast is able to move along the ground like a skater across the ice. The base speed of a creature is increase by 50%, 100% if skating down a incline, normal TMR if skating up an incline. Items may be the subject of the spell as long as they weigh no more than 100 lbs. (+100 per rank) The item will weigh 1/10 of its weight for purposes of dragging or pushing.
5. Spell of Spider Climbing (G-5) RANGE: self or touch DURATION: 10 minutes + 10 per rank EXPERIENCE MULTIPLE: 250 BASE CHANCE: 30%. EFFECTS: The nomad or the subject of the spell can climb the walls or ceiling as easily as a spider does. The hands of subject must be empty and they can move at ½ their TMR. The subject can choose to release his or her grasp of the wall or ceiling at any time. If they are being pulled off the wall it takes a PS of 25 of better to do it and the one attempting to do it must roll under 2 X PS.
6. Call weaponry (G-6) RANGE: self DURATION: immediate EXPERIENCE MULTIPLE: 250 BASE CHANCE: 30%. EFFECTS: The nomad is able to summon his or her weapon immediately back to their open hand. The weapon must be one owned by the nomad and normally on his or her person. There is no range for this spell and the nomad may expend 4 FT to instantly cast this spell as a free action and still do something else during the pulse. This does not change when the nomad reaches rank 20 or gain the sub-skill of quick casting.
7. Spell of Gliding (G-7) RANGE: 20 feet + 5 every two ranks DURATION: 1 minute per rank EXPERIENCE MULTIPLE: 300 BASE CHANCE: 30%. EFFECTS: The nomad can slowly glide through the air and maintain a limited degree of control over movement. The subject of the spell cannot carry additional weight other than armor and a large sack or backpack weighing less than 50% of body weight. The nomad or subject of the spell may glide on a level plane at a rate of 4 TMR per pulse, 1 TMR if ascending, and 10 TMR if descending. Glide requires a degree of concentration so the person gliding may not undertake any other activity.
General Knowledge Rituals
1. Ritual of Mapping (Q-1) The Adept must remain seated and still during the ritual which lasts for one hour. At the end of the ritual the nomad will have a map of the local area within 1 mile +2 per rank. The nomad will then be able to create a general map of the area, but will not know of any sentient being in the area, just the topography and lay of the land. The base chance of success is 4 X PC +3% per rank. The experience point multiple is 200 per rank.
2. Ritual of Portal Construction (Q-2) Nomads are able to construct a portal for the cost of 20 TG. The portal is usable for a number of special knowledge spells that the nomad will use. It can also be used as launching point for planar expeditions and travel. The base chance of successfully making the portal is 50% +2% per rank. The raw material used to make the portal may be used in enlarging the portal in the future so there is so need to rebuild it unless it was damaged by an attack or backfire. The portal is capable of transporting the nomad and 1 person for every 2 ranks in the ritual. The experience point multiple is 300 per rank.
